director of UUTE - Utah's Ultimate Trombone Ensemble. He is the bass trombonist of Utah Trombone Authority.
Rusty currently teaches the bass trombonists at Brigham Young
University and is the Director of Low Brass Studies at Snow College. Rusty has performed with the National Symphony
Orchestra, Kennedy Center Orchestra, and Baltimore Symphony Orchestra. He held a one-year sabbatical position with
the St. Louis Symphony prior to joining the Utah Symphony. He is a sought-after teacher, clinician, and
soloist.

Marc is a serious weekend warrior and free lance classical tenor trombonist. He has
studied with Jay Hildebrandt, James Russo, James Wheat and Larry Zalkind. He has
played principal trombone for the Hillsdale (MI) College/Community Orchestra;
Sinfonia California (Redlands); and has played tenor and bass trombone with the
Orchestra of Sandy City. He also plays trombone with the Ultimate Utah Trombone
Ensemble (UUTE) which has performed several of his arrangements written for the
ensemble.
Also a vocalist, Marc has sung in choirs continuously since the age of 4. He is
currently the bass section leader of the Utah Symphony Chorus and has soloed with
the University of Wisconsin-LaCrosse Choral Union, the La Crosse Chamber Chorale and
had an off-stage solo for the Utah Symphony’s Mozart Live performance in 2007. He
performed with the UTA on their spring 2009 recital. He studied voice with Joan
Palen and Paul Rusterholz (among others who prefer to remain anonymous).
He is
co-owner of Diverse Ayres Fine Art, a business featuring art of the 20th century.
Marc is a physician trained in pediatrics and genetics. To pay the bills and
support his music and art habits, since January of 2005, he has been the director of
the Intermountain Healthcare Clinical Genetics Institute. In addition to
administrative duties and program development, Dr. Williams runs a clinic for
evaluation of adults with mental retardation, birth defects and genetic disorders.
He was recently elected Vice-President of Clinical Genetics for the American College
of Medical Genetics. In 2007 he was appointed to the Secretary’s Advisory Committee
on Genetics, Health and Society as well as the Personalized Medicine workgroup of
the Department of Health and Human Services’ American Health Information
Communities.
